Meet Erika
My name is Erika Lehtinen, and I am the founder of Rent a Daughter. I created this business to build something meaningful—not only for myself, but for the people I serve.
I graduated, with honors, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Cybersecurity. While I was studying and working full-time, I rediscovered a deep sense of purpose. For example, while working as a lifeguard, I observed regular visitors each day; sharing laughs, enjoying friendships, this experience reminded me how fulfilling it is to experience genuine connections.
Many of those regulars often turned to me with technology questions, and it sparked an idea: to combine my technical skills with my love of helping others. Rent a Daughter was born from that inspiration. My mission is to help older adults stay safe online, where they are frequently targeted, while also assisting with the everyday tasks that bring comfort and peace of mind.

Supporting seniors—whether by teaching technology, running errands, or simply keeping them company—has shown me where I truly belong. After a year of searching for the “right” job and feeling isolated in a cubicle, I realized the answer was right in front of me all along. I’ve committed myself to work that is both personal and meaningful, and I’m grateful every day to dedicate my skills and energy to those who need them most.

Rent a Daughter was created with a simple belief: everyone deserves reliable, compassionate support—especially the seniors who have spent their lives caring for others.
After working with older adults at my local pool and witnessing how much a friendly face and a helping hand can brighten someone’s day, I knew I wanted to turn that spark into something meaningful.

I’m CPR, First Aid, and AED certified, so safety is always a priority. Beyond credentials, what sets Rent a Daughter apart is the personal connection. I take time to listen, learn routines, and build relationships based on trust and respect.

Whether it’s running errands, setting up a new phone, preparing a favorite meal, or simply sharing conversation over tea, my goal is to make life easier and more enjoyable.
